The church was established in 1964 through the help of the Baptist Convention of Kenya and the Baptist Mission of Kenya. Changamwe Baptist Church is located in Changamwe Constituency of Mombasa County in the Coast region of Kenya. The CDC serves children two sub-counties, Changamwe and Jomvu. Changamwe has 1 Division, 4 locations, 10 Sub-locations and 58 Villages. Jomvu has 1 division, 3 Locations, 7 Sub-locations and 65 villages. Our main goal is to minister to and serve the communities surrounding us and beyond. We felt compelled to serve children more because of the vulnerability they came with. We offer children a safe space and platform to thrive in all aspects of Human development. The main one being spiritual development express their opinions, challenges and experiences in their social community. To achieve this, we have laid down strategies that ensure that everything relating to children is said out loud in a safe space

About Us

Child poverty distorts children’s physical, cognitive and social development. Poverty can also set children on a lifelong trajectory of low education levels and reduced productivity, and undermine their physical and mental health. Children living in poverty are more likely to become impoverished adults and have poor children, thereby creating and sustaining intergenerational cycles of poverty. Over the past decade the number of orphans and vulnerable children living in Kenya has been escalating at an alarming rate. In 2004, the number of orphans was estimated to be 1.8 million; currently that numbers has grown to nearly 3.2 million. Over one million of those children lost their parents to HIV/AIDS related complications and Human beings thrive in social circles and their lives are a combination of various relationships. Relationships being from the family unit
